Prof. Karin Berglund
Stockholm School of Entrepreneurship at Stockholm University, Sweden

  • Karin Berglund is Associate Professor and Centre Director for Stockholm School of Entrepreneurship at Stockholm University. She has focused how entrepreneurship has been manifested in different forms in contemporary society. In this work she has highlighted individuals other than the western male hero stereotype, and has drawn attention to processes other than those resulting in the establishment of new enterprises. She uses her (mainly) ethnographic studies to contribute to critical management, organisation and entrepreneurship studies. Recently she is engaged a discussion on how a more critically informed entrepreneurship knowledge could be introduced in education, both to enhance students reflexive abilities and their relational skills and understandings.

Prof. Laurie Elish-Piper
Dean, The Institute of Education at the Northern Illinois University, USA

  • Laurie Elish-Piper, Ph.D., is dean of the College of Education at Northern Illinois University. She is also a Presidential Engagement Professor and a Distinguished Teaching Professor in the Department of Literacy and Elementary Education (LEED), and she has recently completed a term as NIU's Presidential Advisor on College and Career Readiness. She also served as the director of the Jerry L. Johns Literacy Clinic for 15 years and as and co-director of the Center for the Interdisciplinary Study of Language and Literacy for seven years. Elish-Piper has also provided leadership to professional organizations, including her service as the president of the Association of Literacy Educators and Researchers and as a member of the International Literacy Association Board of Directors.
